This new complex, the Roosevelt is being outfitted with solar panels, LED lighting, energy efficient appliances and heat pumps. The developer wants to have a zero energy net consumption and zero net carbon dioxide emission. Loeffler stated, “The Roosevelt is a one-of-a-kind development project that marries important aspects of investor value creation while being on the forefront of innovation.”
This new building will be at Second and Roosevelt Street just south of Tempe Town Lake. The building will sit on two acres and is Calibers first development in Tempe. The 1,800 square foot townhouses are prices between $450,000 and $500,000 with amenities like garages and decks. They will have two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. This is the second building of its kind. A very similar building the Equinox off of Hayden and Thomas Road has a very similar outlook on zero energy.
The first phase of the new Roosevelt building will be 14 units projected to come available in spring. The next 18 townhouses will be scheduled to hit the market by next winter. Loeffler states, “This project allows us to move forward and become an environmental steward at a time when the entire nation is seeking a more sustainable future.” The demand for net zero developments are ever growing. Mayor of Tempe, Mark Mitchell says, “ We’ve long been a community dedicated to sustainability, and this development will give residents who want to live in a Net Zero sustainable environment a real option”.
Tempe will be welcoming this new development with open arms.
